The Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) is a passive semiconductor device whose resistance decreases as light intensity increases. Featuring a standard 5 mm photoresistor form factor, it offers resistance from megaohms in darkness to hundreds of ohms in light. Widely used in light-sensing applications such as street light controllers, automatic brightness systems, and robotics. Simple to interface with microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi using analog or digital circuits.
